Privacy Policy

Introduction
A&R Ventures (“we”, “our”) develops and operates the NeuraScanr app (the “App”). This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information. By using NeuraScanr, you accept the practices described here.
Data we collect
Local-first by design
- In free mode, no account is required.
- By default, your scans (QR, text, documents) stay only on your device.
- No behavioural tracking and no sale of your data.
- We only collect what is strictly necessary for the features you enable.
Optional features that transmit data
Some features send data to our servers or partners — only when you use them:
- Account (to subscribe to Premium): your email address.
- Cloud backup (Premium, optional): the documents you choose to back up.
- AI features (math solver, AI translation, AI eraser): the relevant image or text is sent to our servers and to AI providers for processing, then returned.
- Abuse-prevention logs: IP address and device type, linked to operations on your account.
Anonymous statistics & diagnostics
To improve the app and fix bugs, we collect the following anonymously (via a random identifier, not linked to your identity):
- Your device model and operating system (e.g. “iPhone 14”, Android 14).
- The app version.
- Your country, inferred from your phone's region settings — with no GPS geolocation.
- Usage statistics (features used) and crash reports.
This data contains no name, email or precise location. Legal basis: legitimate interest (product improvement and diagnostics).
Account & cloud backup (Premium)
Cloud backup is an optional Premium feature, off by default. If you enable it:
- Your documents are stored on our storage provider (Cloudflare R2, hosted in the European Union).
- They are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (server-side AES-256).
- Each user can only access their own files, through secure time-limited links.
Your account is managed via Supabase (authentication). You can disable backup, delete files, or request deletion of your account at any time.
Permissions
- Camera — required to scan QR codes, documents and text. Used only during an active scan, never in the background.
- Gallery / Media — requested only when you choose to import or save a document. No automatic access to your existing photos.
Third-party services
- Google ML Kit — on-device text recognition (OCR); images are not sent to Google.
- Google AdMob — ads to fund the app (non-personalised by default). Policy

- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted storage for cloud backup (EU). Policy
- RevenueCat — subscription management (payment is handled by Google Play / the App Store; we never see your card details). Policy
- AI providers (including Google Gemini and Groq) — process the image or text of AI features only for the time of processing; not used for advertising.
Data retention
Local data is removed when you uninstall the App, clear its data, or use “Clear all”. Cloud backups: a deleted file goes to trash and is permanently removed from our servers after 30 days; deleting your account removes your backup data. Technical logs are kept for a limited period and then purged.
Your rights (GDPR)
- Access: your scans are visible in the App; for account/backup data, contact us.
- Deletion: clear your history, delete your backed-up files, or request account & backup deletion.
- Portability: you can restore/download your backed-up documents.
- Objection: disable personalised ads in your Android settings.
Security
- Your scans stay on your device by default — nothing is sent without your action.
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256) for cloud backup.
- Strict isolation: each user can access only their own data.
Children
NeuraScanr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
Changes
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced via an app update.
